OPTION 1 –
Select the Prevent Changing Wallpaper Option in Group Policy – this affects the Display properties dialog.
OPTION 2
- choose Start, Run, and type gpedit.msc to run the Group Policy editor
- Navigate to Local Computer Policy, User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Desktop, and click Active Desktop.
- Double-click Active Desktop Wallpaper and, on the Setting tab, click Enabled, type the path to the desktop wallpaper that you want to be used all the time and click OK.
OPTION 3.
You can also edit the registry (carefully, of course).
In the editor (Start > Run > regedit) navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop (It may be necessary to create the location).
Here, edit/create the DWORD value “NoChangingWallpaper” so that it’s value is 1.
Start “regedit.exe”. Go to the following keys:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.jpeg
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.jpg
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.gif
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.pngand set the value ImageOptionFlags to 1.
Then, the “Set as Desktop Wallpaper” is gone.
