I’m in the Army. If you didn’t know, now you know. I’m a 25B, which means that I spend my weekends doing what I spend my weeks doing. Until now, I haven’t been to AIT. I head there at some point next month for 4 fun-filled months of balls-to-the-wall training. I’m excited. I intend to maximize this opportunity to enhance my worth as a tech. I intend to come home with a portfolio packed with certifications and paper to prove what a great tech I am.
Old graybeard techs cry that certifications are a piece of paper. But corporate recruiters are a large part of my private business, and they tell me otherwise. They say that resumes that don’t have the latest in education find their way into the garbage bin.
So I reclassed into 25B and I’m leaving for AIT sometime in the near future. I’ll keep you posted. As is the purpose of this tumblog, I’m reprinting information here that many may find useful. I’ve been digging for information for months.

You definetly have the right attitude. Try and get as much as you can now and then once they set you free you can get something top notch.
In today’s economy you need all the help you can get.
Hey, i will also be in the MOS 25B training courses im scheduled to leave for BCT may 4 2009. when are you scheduled to leave? and i agree with consultant that is a great attitude to have and i will be studying hard to gain as many certs as possible as well. By the time my first term(5 years 33 weeks) is completed i would really like to have the CCIE and the CISSP certs being that those are the most elite certs out there on the market.
I am definitely dedicated to obtaining the majority of those certs and would like to stay posted on your future endeavors. The only upseting thing to me about this MOS is that it doesnt offer Loan Repayment and i have a shit load of loans that i’m currently paying now. But this was the exact job that i wanted before i even enlisted and i wouldnt of joined if i couldnt get this MOS, but i am very happy and exicted that i got in and look foward to gaining some valuable experience with state of the art technology that i would have never gotten working as a Network Support Technician at the company i previously worked.
