Vista vs. Trend Micro vs. Curt ptII
Found a way to disable/uninstall Trend Micro without the password.
Just change it. here’s how
I had the same problem because it was a Corporate edition. Follow these steps, it worked for me. To remove / reset the uninstall password for Trend Micro OfficeScan, Edit Ofcscan.ini file. ( If it’s not in your Tren micro program folder, just do a search.)
- Open the Ofcscan.ini file using notepad or the text editor of your understanding.
- Control-F and search for the [INI_CLIENT_SECTION]
- Find the line reading Uninstall_Pwd= and comment it out with a #.
- Insert a new line saying Uninstall_Pwd=70
- Save the Ofcscan.ini file and retry the uninstall. When it prompts you for a password, enter a ‘1′.
This has worked for me! Peace. Now to try it on my vista machine - it may not work because i mangled the registry.

Why would you want to uninstall Trend Micro OfficeScan - it’s the best thing going around at the moment. Secures at the desktop as well as the server, therefore preventing anything “suspicisous entering your network”, easy to use and manage. I can’t fathom anyone wanting to compare Vista??? to Trend Micro. I always say, what’s a company’s core competency. I don’t seem to recall Microsoft’s core competency being Security. Trend Micro, on the other hand……

trend micro is garbage. i don’t know why my district insists on using it. Fortunately, this ridiculous product keeps me in a job.
