use-regedit-to-control-workstation-only-functionality

uh-oh, I staged 20 laptops for my vice principal to take to a conference. We had some bumps, but everything imaged ok. Then, while verifying my fix, I realized that there was no way for anyone to log into the computer sans Novell. My updates had removed the option to log into the workstation. How would would my staff log into their laptops to connect to the local wi-fi, to log into their VPNs?

What ever could I do? EVERYBODY PANIC!

  1. Hit ‘START -> RUN -> REGEDIT’.
  2. Drive down to login key. for my system it was ‘SOFTWARE -> NOVELL -> LOGIN’

Here you’ll find the keys that handle your Novell login screens.

Here are your registry keys that handle your login

These are my keys, yours may be different. Just double click the key you want, change the value, save.

I’m big on verifying my fix, so I always log out and check to make sure the button is back.
